Marking a major construction milestone in its largest New Build scheme ever, HMS is handing over the first lot of homes at Ferrersfield – its site in Huyton which staggers Knowsley Lane and Astley Road – marking the completion of Phase 1 of the build.
Handing over 19 new homes to the North West’s largest provider of affordable housing, Torus, HMS has completely transformed the former school site to create a development which, when completed later this year, will see 131 new homes built for the local area, actively bolstering access to affordable housing in Knowsley.
Discussing the completion of Phase 1, Construction Director, John Barrow, said:
“This was a big undertaking for HMS when we started on site in 2021 as it was the biggest New Build project we had ever mobilised, but seeing the homes we have worked hard to build completed and people receiving the keys to their new homes is fantastic.
“This is now the seventh New Build site we have – or nearly in this case – handed over to Torus and with 5 others live and due for completion within the next year to 18 months it’s incredible to see just how many communities we are helping Torus build and create. I know that Ferrersfield will provide hundreds of people with a great place to live and taking a lead on regenerating a disused piece of land is something that the whole team is proud of.”
Continuing, Group Head of Developments at Torus Developments, Anna James, said:
“It’s impressive to see just how far HMS has come – both in developing Ferrersfield and with their New Build activities – and to be celebrating a major milestone with the team is great. Over the years, HMS has proven to be a resilient and reliable contracting partner and as the next 18 months will be one of HMS’ strongest in terms of handovers and completions, I am looking forward to continuing to mark these kinds of milestones with the team.”
