Healthiest venue in the North West wins Sustainability award

Spaces at The Spine, Liverpool’s world-class conferences and events venue, has been awarded the prestigious Sustainability award at this year’s miaList.

The miaList is one of the UK’s leading accolades in the business meetings and events industry, created by the Meetings Industry Association to celebrate inspirational individuals and teams who drive the highest standards across the sector.

Receiving the Sustainability award, Spaces at The Spine was commended for its commitment to all pillars of sustainability – environmental, social and economic – with judges particularly praising the venue’s focus on people.

Featuring a variety of dynamic areas for conferences, workshops and dining, Spaces at The Spine is located in one of Liverpool’s most distinctive buildings, The Spine, in the city’s Knowledge Quarter. Designed following the principles of the WELL Building Standard, which sets standards in construction to support health and well-being, it has been recognised as the healthiest building in the North West and one of the healthiest in the UK.

Natacha Allen, Head of Commercial Events, says

“We’re delighted to receive such a prestigious award that reaffirms our commitment to sustainability. Alongside the healthy structure of the building, which sets a benchmark in the region, we’re particularly pleased to have the positive impact on people highlighted, since one of our key aims is to enhance the well-being of everyone who spends time in our venue.”
