To mark White Ribbon Day on 25th November, TRS, who deliver apprenticeships to logistics firms across the country, made an official commitment to help end violence against women.
White Ribbon Accreditation has been awarded to logistics apprenticeship provider, TRS in recognition of their dedication to ending men’s violence against women. By aligning with White Ribbon UK, the leading charity engaging men and boys to end violence against women, TRS is taking a proactive stance in promoting positive attitudes and behaviours.
TRS has appointed male and female ambassadors within their company to advocate for ending verbal and physical violence against women. TRS driving school manager, Mike Lucas and designated safeguarding officer, Sadie Douglas are the first to sign the White Ribbon promise poster. They will be role models for TRS staff and its apprentices based in companies nationwide. Posters encouraging, everyone to make the White Ribbon promise are prominently displayed at TRS training centres.
TRS’s commitment to White Ribbon Accreditation demonstrates its dedication to creating a safe workplace. Furthermore, as a leading national provider of training to the predominantly male logistics sector, TRS is helping make careers in the industry more appealing to women through its commitment to the White Ribbon charity.
Beverly Ellis, operations director at TRS, said,
“We are proud to have been granted White Ribbon Accreditation as it chimes with our wider strategy of increasing the number of women in logistics by contributing to making the industry a safe and respectful working environment for all.”
Anthea Sully, chief executive of White Ribbon UK, said,
“White Ribbon Accredited Organisations can make a real difference towards ending violence against women by promoting a culture of respect and equality among their staff and wider communities. By raising awareness among employees, people can learn how to become allies and call out violent and abusive behaviour when they see it. We are delighted to welcome TRS as one of our White Ribbon Accredited Organisations and are looking forward to working with them towards ending violence against women once and for all.”
