To mark the occasion the airline surprised Ellie Jeffrey and Finn Graham from Carlisle flying to Larnaca with free easyJet return flights.

easyJet now operates 7 aircraft from the airport and offers the largest schedule for customers, flying around 2 million passengers a year to 27 destinations. During this summer it will offer up to 340 flights a week.

Over the last year easyJet has introduced new routes to three destinations from Liverpool to Enfida in Tunisia, Hurghada in Egypt and the Greek island of Corfu. The new connections to some unique and exciting destinations offer customers even more choice and flexibility for their holidays this year.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager said:

“We are so proud to be in Liverpool marking a key milestone as we celebrate flying 50 million passengers to and from the airport. Our first flights from the airport took off for the first time over 25 years ago and since then we’ve been committed to Liverpool in providing great value fares and convenient connections for our customers from across the North West they’re travelling for business or leisure.
