School uniforms are hanging on the front of wardrobe doors, football clubs are running out of time to spend their remaining millions and the sun has made what feels like its last appearance for six months. It can only mean one thing – Autumn is here.
The dawn of a new season heralds the start of a busy and important period for businesses and for Liverpool Chamber. Our role is to connect Liverpool City Region businesses and provide them with the support they need to thrive, and our agenda for the coming months reflects that core purpose.
First on our schedule is a special edition of our Well Connected networking series at the end of this week, hosted in partnership with Liverpool Football Club. It will explore how global organisations are driving local impact through a focus on social value, community engagement, and ESG commitments. Whether you’re a business leader, community partner, or simply curious about how organisations can do well by doing good, this event is your chance to learn from brands at the forefront of purpose-driven impact and connect with peers across industries.
Further opportunities to network are also not far away, with Well Connected North at Crosby Lake House on 19 September, followed by a gathering of our Charity Business Network on September 25. Both events offer an important opportunity for organisations to showcase their work and strengthen both their partnerships and supply chain.
We are proud of our role as the key convener for the Local Skills Improvement Plan, which aims to bring together the current and future skills needs of businesses with the teaching and training courses provided by local schools and colleges. An important element of that engagement process is the upcoming LSIP Conference, which takes place on 29 September at the Delta Hotel in the city centre. We are keen to hear from industry leaders across a range of sectors, so please do get in touch or find out more about the event here.
High on our agenda every year is our Innovation in Business Awards, which takes place this year on October 23. The event will hold extra significance in this, our 175th Anniversary year, and we look forward to presenting a host of awards including special recognition for those who are blazing a trail in the city region, leading its future direction or leaving an important legacy.
Of course, as active members of the wider business community we also look forward to working with key stakeholders across the city region and supporting and attending external events which enrich and add value to the aspirations of local entrepreneurs and business owners across a range of issues.
As our respective engines begin to spark back into life and the scent of new opportunities fills the air, I look forward to seeing many of you in person in the coming months.
