A national shortage of skilled planners is putting Britain’s planning system under pressure. It’s slowing local decisions and holding back investment and growth. But business is finding solutions. The business-led Planning Skills Fund – delivered with the Royal Town Planning Institute – is training and upskilling more planners to work in local councils, speed up the system and unlock growth.
The Fund’s first cohort of 20 students are training in universities now, with more enrolled in the year ahead.
