Since 2006, dot-art has played a central role in the Liverpool City Region’s cultural landscape, championing local artists and making art accessible to all. To mark this milestone year, TWENTY brings together work by twenty of dot-art’s artist members, spanning both long-standing contributors and newer additions to the gallery.

The exhibition at INNSiDE Liverpool will showcase a diverse range of fine art, with varied subject matter, techniques and styles. Visitors can expect an eclectic mix of contemporary practice, from expressive abstraction to detailed landscapes and architectural works, reflecting the breadth of artistic talent across the region.

Artists featured include Nathan Pendlebury, whose practice is driven by process-led painting and a long engagement with contemporary exhibition spaces. Hazel Thomson works from a deeply personal connection to nature, developing her practice through experimentation and close observation. Barbara Derecka is an artist and graphic designer whose multidisciplinary approach is informed by a love of exploration and cities around the world.

Also exhibiting is Joe Venning, a contemporary painter and muralist whose work spans public, domestic and international spaces and is rooted in strong visual culture and community. Lisa James is a self-taught abstract artist from Cheshire whose intuitive practice embraces emotion, vulnerability and curiosity.

Audiences can expect dreamy abstract works that both surprise and comfort, detailed depictions of forests and lush dales, iconic views of Liverpool architecture, vibrant neon-inspired pieces and more.

Today, supporting hundreds of artists and reaching thousands of young people annually, we’re incredibly proud of the creative community we’ve built together. This exhibition showcases twenty of these artists, some of whom have been with us since the very beginning. Our 2026 anniversary year will celebrate not just where we’ve been, but where Liverpool’s artists are going next.”

TWENTY is part of INNSiDE Liverpool’s ongoing collaboration with dot-art, curating rotating exhibitions within the hotel that support local creatives while enriching the guest experience. This rotating art reflects INNSiDE’s Stay Curious philosophy, offering travellers a fresh and unexpected experience with every visit. Located on the hotel’s first floor, the gallery invites guests to explore the artworks at their own pace throughout their stay.
