Hugh Baird College Marks Colleges Week 2026


Hugh Baird College is proud to be supporting Colleges Week 2026, taking place from 2-6 March, alongside #LoveOurColleges and Careers Week.

The week is a national celebration of the vital role colleges play in transforming lives, strengthening communities and creating opportunities. At Hugh Baird College, it’s also a chance to highlight the wide range of routes available to learners; from full-time study and apprenticeships to adult learning and higher education.

Rachael Hennigan, Principal of Hugh Baird College, said:

“Colleges Week is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our students, staff and the positive impact further education has in our community. At Hugh Baird College, we are committed to helping learners of all ages build skills, confidence and ambition for their future.”

She added:

“Throughout the week, we’ll be showcasing the achievements of our students and sharing how the College supports progression into university, employment and apprenticeships. We’re proud to be part of this national celebration.”

Across the week, the college be sharing student stories, staff insights and subject highlights linked to the daily themes set by the Association of Colleges (AoC).

Monday – Adult Learning

Spotlighting adults who have returned to education to gain new qualifications, change career direction or learn new skills.

Tuesday – Young People

Celebrating young learners as they grow in confidence, develop new skills and work towards their goals.

Wednesday – Apprenticeships

Showcasing apprenticeship pathways, employer partnerships and the benefits apprenticeships bring to both learners and businesses.

Thursday – Higher Education

Highlighting higher-level study options, including Level 4+ qualifications and higher apprenticeships, and where they can lead.

Friday – College Community

Celebrating the people, partnerships and support networks that make Hugh Baird College such an important part of the local community.
