Prize of £1,250 a ‘Major Boost’ say charity.
WIRRAL Hospice St John’s will benefit from a £1,250 boost after being crowned the UK’s favourite charity at the 2026 Park Christmas Savings Community Awards.
The charity was announced as the overall national winner during Park Christmas Savings’ annual Agents’ Awards celebration, held at the famous Liver Building, near to the company’s Liverpool headquarters earlier this month.
Park’s community of around 22,000 agents were invited to nominate charities close to their hearts across four regions – England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. A regional winner was selected in each nation, with agents then voting to decide the overall UK winner.
Wirral Hospice, nominated by Park agent Andra Carr, secured the most votes nationwide to claim the £1,250 top prize.
The hospice provides specialist palliative care and support for people living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as vital care and guidance for their families.
Andra said:
“To see Wirral Hospice not only win the regional award but go on to become the overall UK winner is incredibly special.
“I nominated Wirral St John’s hospice as my husband was under their care for a few years with his Parkinson’s and COPD. Sadly, my husband Andrew passed away in the Hospice in May 2025. The hospice team was so compassionate and supportive with his care – not just for him but for our family too.
She added:
“I found it very emotional when I received the news that they had won, obviously I was extremely happy that my nomination could help them in a small way. The hospice does such important work in our community, supporting families during some of the most difficult times of their lives.”
Prizes were presented on behalf of the successful nominators at the Liverpool celebration, which brought together agents from across the UK to recognise their achievements and community spirit.
Helen Brown, Chief Executive of Wirral Hospice St John’s, said:
“Thank you to all at Park Christmas Savings for choosing Wirral Hospice to be the beneficiary of your £1,250 donation. Your generosity will help us to keep making a difference to the families we provide hospice care and support when they need us most.”
Speaking after the event, Katherine Scott, Director of Marketing, Park Christmas Savings, said:
“Our Community Awards are always one of the most meaningful parts of our Agents’ Awards celebration. Our agents are at the heart of everything we do, and it’s incredibly important to us that we help them support the causes that matter most in their local communities. Congratulations to Wirral Hospice for winning the nationwide prize – a very deserving national winner.”
