Hugh Baird College have set up the Employer Pledge for companies to commit to supporting Careers work and curriculum development.

Traineeships

The College offers a 15-26 week free Traineeship programme for 16-24 year olds.

This includes work experience, and has a focus on providing skills and experience to prepare young people for work and meet employer needs.

Apprenticeships

The Traineeship was made in mind to help students advance on to an Apprenticeship or into employment.

Students can undertake apprenticeships in different skilled areas to gain a work-based qualification

Levels range from level 2 to degree level apprenticeships

Supported Internships

The College offers this structured programme towards people aged 16-24, with ‘Special Education Needs’ (SEN) and/or an ‘Education, Health, and Care Plan’ (EHCP).

Supported internships give young people access to a structured study programme based primarily in a workplace. They are unpaid, and last for a minimum of six months
