We are seeking a highly-motivated individual with ambition to develop knowledge, competency and experience to join Liverpool Chamber’s International Trade function in the role of Export Documentation Officer.

Reports to: Finance & Operations Director
Contract: Permanent

One of our business support specialist areas is the delivery of Export Documentation services.

The issuing of export documentation certificates provides businesses who trade goods internationally with the evidence required to trade goods across borders in compliance with trade and customs law, minimising the risk of incurring penalties from customs authorities.

This post is a developmental role that is ideal for a candidate seeking to develop a specialism in international trade & customs, legal compliance and/or administration.

Through a training programme, the post-holder will become experts within the entire export documentation function, learning all aspects of the process including issuing, checking and authorising export documentation and communicating with customers on compliance, billing or training issues.

The training, development and experience gathered through this role is an ideal grounding for a career in international trade customs, logistics and shipping.

Progression opportunities within the Chamber business is strong with the role being capable of stimulating a specialist career pathway or opening up future opportunities.

Crucial to undertaking the role is a willingness to learn quickly, to be focussed on detail and to communicate with colleagues and customers. A basic understanding or awareness of international trade or documentation would be helpful but is not required – a willingness to learn and acquire the knowledge is!
