Raising £6,773.67 for Alder Hey

MSIF has sponsored Liverpool’s first Sportswoman’s Lunch event, helping to raise £6,773.67 for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

The event took place on September 26th at 30 St James Street, bringing together over 130 guests from the professional services industry and entrepreneurs alike.

Clare Brookfield of MSIF was one of the founding three to get the Sportswoman’s Lunch off the ground. Clare worked alongside Natalie Dye of Bathgate Business Finance and Marena Mondair of DTM Legal. The idea for the event came to light when the professional trio recognised the lack of corporate events that celebrated the achievements of women, even more so in the sporting industry.

Through dedication to the cause, the Sportswoman’s team expanded, bringing in Natalie Dickson (Brabners) and Ruth Kirby and Louise Molloy (NatWest) to help ensure success of the event.

It was important to all involved to highlight the successes of women in the sporting world, so finding an inspirational speaker was a must.
The team were delighted to land Olympic Gymnast, Beth Tweddle MBE who is also a patron of Alder Hey and SME business owner.

The lunch was a huge success with generosity and awareness of the great work that Alder Hey do at the forefront. All profits raised have now been delivered to the charity, helping to fund ongoing developments throughout the hospital for both parents and children.

Following the achievements of the event, the date for the second Sportswoman’s Lunch has already been set for the 19th September 2019. Clare will continue to head the event with support from the team and aims to make 2019’s event even bigger and better than the last.

Clare Brookfield, MSIF Investment Support Officer said “I am absolutely thrilled with the success of the event and the generosity for Alder Hey on the day. We have all worked so hard and I know myself that there has been a lot of sleepless nights worrying about how the first event would take off and I couldn’t be happier. Due to the uptake and success of September’s lunch, we are already working on next years. It will be bigger, better, and we hope to raise even more money for next year’s chosen charity. I cannot wait.”

Lisa Greenhalgh, CEO of MSIF said “It has been a delight and an honour to co-sponsor Liverpool’s very first Sportswoman’s Lunch. The event was a great success and I am proud that MSIF has helped to raise so much money for a worthy cause. We look forward to being a part of the 2019 lunch.”
